ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar has said that the threat of Corona has not yet been averted so if precautionary measures are not taken, the situation could worsen.
Talking to media in Islamabad, Asad Umar said that the epidemic was high in 20 cities and the smart lockdown had started from mid-May.
He said that there were two weeks in which there was pressure on major hospitals in major cities due to which it was possible that up to 300,000 cases would reach the country by the end of June but precautionary measures were taken after which the number of cases reached 200,000. The Federal Minister said that when the cases escalated, action was taken against those who did not comply with the SO and then the people also started taking precautionary measures, so if we all play our part, the spread of repentance can be controlled.
On the occasion, Asad Omar warned that the threat of Corona has not yet been averted, so if precautions are not taken, the situation could worsen.
“The number of beds and ventilators in hospitals is constantly increasing and doctors and paramedics are working to protect us,” he added.
